The picturesque harbour village of Agia Efimia is located within the beautiful Pylaros Valley region of Kefalonia on the northeastern part of the island. The Municipality of Pylaros comprises the regions of Agia Efimia, Makriotika and Divarata. The seat of the Municipality is at Agia Efimia.
Agia Efimia is centrally situated and is a perfect base for exploring the island of Kefalonia. It is 34 Kms from the capital of Argostoli, 35 Kms from Lixouri which is the second largest town, 28 Kms from Fiscardo in the northern most part of the island and just 9 Kms from the port town of Sami.
Agia Efimia has a bustling harbour where flotillas and also many larger vessels moor up on the harbour side during the summer months. The town boasts a fine selection of
beaches, restaurants and tavernas, coffee shops, cafes and snack bars, as well as bakeries, supermarkets and a post office. Agia Efimia also has a highly regarded dive school within the town.
